This morning I got to do the morning routine and snack with the students. We also have student nurses in the school and they did a lesson on puberty for the grade 5/6 classes. This created a lot of hype and awkwardness in the morning but we made it through... My lesson was focused on current electricity and circuits and I was fortunate enough to be able to borrow one of my professors Makey Makey kits. These kits are so incredible and can be used for so many different things. Everyone was engaged and excited. Our morning got switched around a bit so I ended up doing review for half an hour in the morning and then doing a demonstration in the afternoon. I originally was going to get students to actual use the Makey Makey's today but we did not have enough time. If I were to do this again, I would have students write down notes during the review to help them stay focused.
In the morning we also went down and did literacy with the grade ones and later went and did literacy with the grade 3/4 class. There is a lot of energy in this school and as a pre-intern I am happy to help out in other classes.
Tomorrow we go on a field trip to watch "Supaman" perform at Scott Collegiate. I am so excited to see him perform! We watched some YouTube videos in class and he looks amazing. What an incredible role model for our kids!
